Almost all of our stuff is in boxes, and half of them are in a storage unit. We got a good deal where they're giving us the first month free! If all goes well, we'll be leaving on May 15th.
We rented a van to take a bunch of boxes to our storage unit. We let Sasha ride in it in the parking lot, and now that's pretty much all she talks about. She loves that van. I'll upload a small video of us riding in the back while James was parking it.
She went from being non-social, not caring whether or not there were other kids around, to ADORING her little friends. She talks about them all the time and is so sociable with stranger and friend alike. The other day she tripped and fell, and came running to me for kisses, as usual, until her neighbor, Marianne came out. Then she didn't want mommy anymore, just Marianne. :(
So, I always make sure she has little playmates. I hope she doesn't miss them too much while we're in Houston.
Lately, she's been really interested in babies. We talk a lot about how they grow in the womb. We'll sit and look at pictures of pregnant women, and of me when I was, and she's just fascinated! Sometimes she'll put her doll under her shirt, or even funnier, she'll say she wants to get back inside of my belly because she needs to "grow some more"!! I tell her she's too big to fit in my belly anymore. And she responds, "But I want to try" !!
She's been saying the funniest things. James and I enjoy talking about her after she's gone to bed and telling each other all the cute things she says. We try to write as many of them down as we remember in her baby book. I know it's something we'll all cherish later on.
Here are some pictures from here and there.
Swinging her friend: Her favorite thing at the park are swings. That's all she wants to play with. She loves pushing kids in them, and being pushed. Although she's actually learning to pump! It's pretty cool. She naturally started moving herself and her legs back and forth trying to go higher, which led us to start teaching her how to swing herself.

A new activity: Sorting colored beads with tweezers:
She's become very interested in buttoning. So I sewed some buttons of all sizes onto a shirt for her to practice:
Another Montessori activity is to arrange flowers in vases. Here she is decorating the flowers we made:

One of her pretend games: putting herself and her dolls to bed
Here's a video of her drawing a person:
