Back from Green Acre

Green Acre, an historic international Bahá'í Center of Learning inspired by the presence and example of 'Abdu'l-Bahá, fosters spiritual transformation and promotes the oneness of humankind, world peace, race unity and the equality of women and men. Green Acre is a spiritual center which will become a "standard bearer of the Oneness of the World of Humanity." (greenacre.org)

Our weekend was very spiritually uplifting. Our life-long friend, Jason Ighani, was the keynote speaker. It was so nice to see him after so many years!
James and I took turns in the nursery with Sasha while the other went to the talks. But neither of us missed the sessions while we were with her because they had speakers set up in the room. James and I would get together afterwards and share more details about each session. Sasha had a wonderful time! She had a huge yard to run about in, a big nursery full of all kinds of cool toys, and a new friend (the only other child her age), Aayan (17 months old). There were about 50 young adult baha'is in attendance and a lot of spiritual energy!

Here's Sasha showing off her name tag:

Sasha must have felt the spiritual energy as well. She mentioned Abdu'l-Baha's name many times and at random moments. And said prayers, (without me asking) as shown in the picture below:

Here's Sasha and her friend from Chile, Aayan:

Aayan's beautiful parents Gabriela and Elijah:

We went on a small hike to where Abdu'l-Baha chose the land where the second House of Worship (in the United States?)would be built

Friends Amy Smith, from Honduras, and Kenneth Cabot, from New York:

With Jason Ighani:

Sasha and Aayan got along really well except for an ocassional competition over mommy's attention. Here she is telling him "Listen, buddy, this is your last warning. Don't ever let me catch you sitting on my momma's lap again!"

Here's a video of James and Sasha playing and a tiny, tiny tour of the area:

i love the fact that Sasha was saying prayers on her own... I think that will be what I love most about motherhood when it happens, seeing your child become spiritually aware.... bawh
brings tears to my eyes.
