It's been a while since I've updated this blog. Lots of pictures have been accumulating. Below are pictures from our trip over to Colin and Britt's place. They kindly took care of Sasha so that James and I could go on a date. It was wonderful! We had a great time together. We got to go to the movies, go for coffee, walk down the sidewalk holding hands and just be together. James is a strong, happy, positive force in my life. And now more than ever I'm needing his sweet, smiling self by my side. This special date came at a perfect time.
A couple pictures that follow show him working on a doll house for Sasha. It's going to require a lot of work, but he's really excited to do it.
There are pictures of our friends, Rahan and Brenden, whom we met in Albuquerque and who live in Boston now.
And there are, of course, pictures of Sasha happily playing in the snow!

Getting tickled by Daddy:
Her rainbow:
Looking cute:
We've decided to make book-reading an everyday routine before bed. Besides helping to develop in her a love of books, it's a good activity for winding down. She tends to want to read more in the evenings anyway - during the day she's much too active - or maybe she's just trying to postpone sleeping!
Another picture of her sorting her beads (a video too):

Happy Birthday!!
Two years ago, today, at 11:26 am, our little angel was born!
We love you so much, sweetheart!
We had been thinking for a while what to do for Sashita on her birthday. We know a few other kids her age but lately she hasn't been playing well with other children (she is two after all!) We decided that we would keep it simple this year and have a big birthday (with other children) next year when she understands more what it's all about and can play better with other kids.
We made her birthday as special as possible, just the three of us. James made delicious chocolate cupcakes. We sang Happy Birthday and let her blow out the candles. She loved both of these activities and asked us to sing and blow out the candles again and again! She received lots of emails and comments (here and on facebook) and a lovely phone call (through the computer) from Grandma and Grandpa - by the way, Grandpa Pat is also celebrating his birthday today. Happy Birthday! We love you so much!
